I’m Skylar Folk — a filmmaker, designer, and creative strategist who makes stories come to life: on the page, in the room, and on the screen.

For the past fifteen years, I’ve worked across production and development in Austin, New York, and Los Angeles. I came up through hands-on production — from FX’s The Americans to major commercial campaigns for Apple, Target, Squarespace, and many more — before moving into television development and independent creative work. Those years taught me a core principle I still work by: strong ideas need sharp execution to matter.

itch decks and presentations became central to my practice early on. Over time, they turned into a calling card — helping projects communicate their vision, tone, and intent with clarity. I’ve since collaborated with studios including Disney/Hulu, ITV America, DIGA, Propagate, and Embassy Row, and worked alongside creators like Whoopi Goldberg, Mona Scott-Young, and Bryan Fuller.

More recently, I co-created and co-wrote the pilot Troubled with Misha Osherovich (Freaky, Wayward) for Fremantle. We hired a showrunner, built a mini-room, rewrote the pilot, and took the project out townwide. I know the development process end-to-end — from the first spark of an idea to a full buyer tour.

Today, Skylar On Screen is the result: a focused creative practice spanning pitch decks, branding, presentations, and original projects. I bring rigor, taste, and care to every collaboration — with one goal in mind: helping you present your work with confidence, precision, and power.
